Jordan & Allie

Jordan is my little brother who is all grown up now and Allie is his sweet girlfriend. We headed to Collierville square to get some couple shots because they had been wanting some. They were good sports and endured the freezing cold weather to get some great shots!

Michelle's Maternity Session

I just love love love taking maternity pictures! Probably because I'm obsessed with babies and I'm so fascinated with the fact that they grow inside a mothers belly. It amazes me to watch the movement of the belly as the baby wiggles around inside waiting patiently to be set free into the world. Simply fancinating...
This past weekend I took Michelle Waddell's maturnity pictures. Her and her husband Scott were a lot of fun! We took pictures in the studio and at Audubon park across the street from my house. We talked through email a lot before the sessions and she stressed that she wanted the belly to be the main focus, of course, throughout the session.  So I asked her to bring some props and I had some as well and we had a lot of fun playing up her little belly.  We had a lot of fun prop shots but we also had a lot of simple shots as well.

We just went prop crazy but I love it! We had tons of fun and made some super cute pics!

After we headed over to Audobon Park to get some pics outside. I chose I more warm vintagy style for these.

Hope you've enjoyed!  Thanks to Colton for being a good sport!

The Storey Family

Other things may change us, but we start and end with the family.

-- Anthony Brandt

Saturday I took pictures for the Storey Family. They are a sweet little family who I have had the priveledge of photographing .  Amber is a friend I have known since high school and we both graduated together at Bartlett High School. She first came to me in November and asked me to take maturnity pics of her and her little family.  We took some sweet belly pictures and then headed over to Memorial Gardens to get some family pics.

Congrats!
Little baby Savannah was born in January and so Amber came to me a few weeks ago and asked if we could get together and do another family session now that Savannah was here.
These are just a sneak peek of the family session in the A|Nabs Studio.

I love this family interaction as big brother Brody tickles baby Savannah.

Sweet little Brody and a mothers love.

Love this one of baby Savannah and mommy!

Sweet Little fam!

Saturday Church Service for Young Adults

So it came as an idea from Grant Nixon to come up with a Saturday night service specifically geared towards young adults.  He noticed there was a lack of fellowship and community within the church between young adults.  There are things are things out there for the youth and things out there for the older generations, but not much with our generations.  This idea came at a perfect time in my life and Jamie's.  We have been saying for a while that the church has just not met our needs spiritually. We do go to a young marrieds class at Christ Church Bartlett but we never go to the big church.  I just feel like I never get much out of it when I leave.  We were starting to wonder if we needed to change churches but we felt torn. Grant came in and told us about this vision he had for a Saturday night service at Christ Church Arlington.  This service is to create community with people our age; its a place we can come together and grow. I'm really excited about this because now we feel like we don't have to leave our young marrieds class.  Before, God was also tugging on me and Jamie's heart to serve in the church but we just didn't know what we were supposed to do.  God brought this idea in and now we are able to volunteer.  I have been given the opportunity to serve with my talent in photography.  I was able to go out last week and get some shots of the band playing, who by the way are incredible! They will be the band for Saturday Night Service and I'm so excited about what they are gonna bring to this... God is Good! Please check out the website ccsaturdaynights.org for more information about the service.  It is not just for Christ Church people, it is meant for anyone and everyone who is a young adult and looking for fellowship, worship, and a place to grow.

Sorry no pics....

Sorry no pics guys, I know I'm a terrible photography blogger! Funny story, as soon as I sat up this blog my laptop slowly began to become decrepite, mind you I have had ol'e Dellia(my computer) for almost 6 years now. She's been good to me, quite good, but she had to die right when I want to start a photography blog. That's ok, I got my new computer that we just got rebuilt and had an awesome hard drive put in it with an incredible amount of memory.  But wait, I start to do my pics and it says low memory on hard drive! What on earth is this about? Anyways, long story short, both of my computers are being worked on at the moment, so I'm not able to do any editing, which is killing me! So you guys will just have to wait wait wait... I know ya'll just can't stand it...but just wait wait wait a little longer.

I do have some cool news, starting Feb.1st on Memphisconnect.com I will be the featured artist for 52 weeks !!whoopyahwhoop!! This is exciting news for me, this is not only gonna help me and my business endeavors but also hopefully bring people to Memphis and see it in a new light.  It will be a photo blog I post weekly and thats all I can say... I guess you will just have to read it to find out more! Check it out beginning Feb. 1 on Memphisconnect.com

Well have a fantastic night! Until we meet again......

Darren-Blues Musician

About a month ago I shot blues singer and guitarist Darren J Fallas. He is part of the blues group Darren J and Blackkat Bone. I was so excited when he contacted and ask about shooting some artistic shots with him and his guitars.  I have never really shot any kind of musical talents before so I thought this would be interesting and I got stirred up with many great ideas.  Darren was such a pleasure to work with and was flowing with musical talent.  Go check him out at http://www.darrenj.com/ .

I used this blue filter, I thought it was only appropriate with his "blues" background and its awesome!

I told him to just do his thing and I caught a natural moment while he was playing his guitar

Upclose and in the moment

I think my husband said something funny and I caught Darren laughing and out of his serious pose, I had to snap a shot. It turned out to be one of my favorites.

We headed over to A|Nabs Studio after the outside shots and got some shots inside for Darren to use for promotional stuff

I love capturing these moments

I lowered my shutter speed on this and asked him to do his thing, my intention here was to capture his hands in action playing.

This was an experiment of lighting, it remind me of scarface but it came out pretty interesting I thought.

Last but not least....until next time! Have a Blessed night!

My new favorite thing---Iphone editing

Ever since I got my new iPhone, I have found some very cool apps that let you do editing on your phone pictures like you would a picture on your computer. Some of my favorites I use are the PS Mobile, Genius, and Camera Bag. These are just to name a few of my 72 that I have on my iPhone( ok a little exaggeration, but close to it). Here are a few of my favorite creations that have come about from these editing applictions. Hope you enjoy!

This is my aunts dog, he was heavily sedated on our ride to tx. He has to be or he doesnt do well.  It made for a good pic because he let me do what I wanted with him.

This was taken is oregon as we were whipping past a field in my dads truck, I reached out my arm and snapped a pic with my phone.

This was taken on an airplane, on my flight back from Seattle. It's almost as if you can walk out onto the clouds. Amazing view!

A light was casting a shadow onto my keyboard one day while I was working, made for an intereting pic.

I was babysitting and playing with these blocks when I decided to get creative.

Feeding time at the botanic gardens, probably one of my favorite things.

The colors in this are just captivating!

Savannah is one of the liitle girls I babysit, she is fearless! I just love this pic of her, one of my favorites.

Will and Jess at the dinner table while will is playing ds, it's his awesome new toy. This captures a family moment.

My nephew Ben stole my scarf away like he steals heart.

Taber begging, what she does best around the dinner table

Ole leronkis, he one crazy boy

How can anyone say no to this sweet wittle face?

Celeste, savannahs sister, is hilarious, always making me laugh! I caught her looking out the window it was a sweet moment I captured.

This is the sweetest picture in the world!

Hope you have enjoyed! Until next time... Peace out
