Sorry no pics....

Sorry no pics guys, I know I'm a terrible photography blogger! Funny story, as soon as I sat up this blog my laptop slowly began to become decrepite, mind you I have had ol'e Dellia(my computer) for almost 6 years now. She's been good to me, quite good, but she had to die right when I want to start a photography blog. That's ok, I got my new computer that we just got rebuilt and had an awesome hard drive put in it with an incredible amount of memory.  But wait, I start to do my pics and it says low memory on hard drive! What on earth is this about? Anyways, long story short, both of my computers are being worked on at the moment, so I'm not able to do any editing, which is killing me! So you guys will just have to wait wait wait... I know ya'll just can't stand it...but just wait wait wait a little longer.

I do have some cool news, starting Feb.1st on Memphisconnect.com I will be the featured artist for 52 weeks !!whoopyahwhoop!! This is exciting news for me, this is not only gonna help me and my business endeavors but also hopefully bring people to Memphis and see it in a new light.  It will be a photo blog I post weekly and thats all I can say... I guess you will just have to read it to find out more! Check it out beginning Feb. 1 on Memphisconnect.com

Well have a fantastic night! Until we meet again......

Darren-Blues Musician

About a month ago I shot blues singer and guitarist Darren J Fallas. He is part of the blues group Darren J and Blackkat Bone. I was so excited when he contacted and ask about shooting some artistic shots with him and his guitars.  I have never really shot any kind of musical talents before so I thought this would be interesting and I got stirred up with many great ideas.  Darren was such a pleasure to work with and was flowing with musical talent.  Go check him out at http://www.darrenj.com/ .

I used this blue filter, I thought it was only appropriate with his "blues" background and its awesome!

I told him to just do his thing and I caught a natural moment while he was playing his guitar

Upclose and in the moment

I think my husband said something funny and I caught Darren laughing and out of his serious pose, I had to snap a shot. It turned out to be one of my favorites.

We headed over to A|Nabs Studio after the outside shots and got some shots inside for Darren to use for promotional stuff

I love capturing these moments

I lowered my shutter speed on this and asked him to do his thing, my intention here was to capture his hands in action playing.

This was an experiment of lighting, it remind me of scarface but it came out pretty interesting I thought.

Last but not least....until next time! Have a Blessed night!

My new favorite thing---Iphone editing

Ever since I got my new iPhone, I have found some very cool apps that let you do editing on your phone pictures like you would a picture on your computer. Some of my favorites I use are the PS Mobile, Genius, and Camera Bag. These are just to name a few of my 72 that I have on my iPhone( ok a little exaggeration, but close to it). Here are a few of my favorite creations that have come about from these editing applictions. Hope you enjoy!

This is my aunts dog, he was heavily sedated on our ride to tx. He has to be or he doesnt do well.  It made for a good pic because he let me do what I wanted with him.

This was taken is oregon as we were whipping past a field in my dads truck, I reached out my arm and snapped a pic with my phone.

This was taken on an airplane, on my flight back from Seattle. It's almost as if you can walk out onto the clouds. Amazing view!

A light was casting a shadow onto my keyboard one day while I was working, made for an intereting pic.

I was babysitting and playing with these blocks when I decided to get creative.

Feeding time at the botanic gardens, probably one of my favorite things.

The colors in this are just captivating!

Savannah is one of the liitle girls I babysit, she is fearless! I just love this pic of her, one of my favorites.

Will and Jess at the dinner table while will is playing ds, it's his awesome new toy. This captures a family moment.

My nephew Ben stole my scarf away like he steals heart.

Taber begging, what she does best around the dinner table

Ole leronkis, he one crazy boy

How can anyone say no to this sweet wittle face?

Celeste, savannahs sister, is hilarious, always making me laugh! I caught her looking out the window it was a sweet moment I captured.

This is the sweetest picture in the world!

Hope you have enjoyed! Until next time... Peace out

Everyone needs a little motivation....

I can sit and look at photography websites forever, It fascinates me the many styles and the unique abilities that so many individuals produce.  I get so much stirred creativity and motivation  from going and looking at others.  I recommend to anyone that has a dream, go look and be inspired by others, it makes you want to do better, at least for me anyways.

Gavin Gough
Gavin Gough is a travel photographer currently living in Thailand. His website is a brilliant example of self-promotion. The front page has a small flash movie at the top and a large photo underneath. Dig deeper into the website and there are photo galleries showing only his best work, a blog for personal anecdotes and tutorials, and a stock photo gallery hosted by PhotoShelter.
Pw6 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites
Timothy Allen
Timothy Allen’s website is a WordPress powered blog, slightly corporate in nature as it’s put together in conjunction with the BBC. The design is very effective, there is a fast moving slideshow at the top of the front page, and below that, a moving strip of thumbnails that are links to the latest articles. The latest article is published underneath, and at the bottom five short columns display links to articles on Photography, Travel, Video, Tutorials and My Musings. The front page is designed to wow the visitor and provide easy to follow links to all the interesting content within the website.
Pw9 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites
Mitchell Kanashkevich
A beautiful website, the reader is in no doubt that the website belongs to a travel photographer. Navigation is clear and simple and the photo galleries are stunning. The photographer has a small collection of his best photos. This is very important, because the quality of a portfolio is often judged by the weakest shot.
Pw11 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites
Bruce Percy
A very simple design that leaves the viewer no doubt what he’s seeing. A quick glance is enough to see what the photographer does. Navigation again clear and simple. The black background works well with the minimalist design.

Face On Images
Photographer Les Forrester’s website is a masterpiece of simple design. The colour scheme of dark grays and blacks, with typography in gray, white and red is very effective. A moving slide show shows off some of his best photos on the front page, along with a nice introduction and the latest news.

Pablo Corral Vega is an established, well known photojournalist and his website reflects the quality of his work. Note the simplicity of the opening page design, a stunning photo at the top, the photographer’s name above, and more links below.
Pw19 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites
Colin Prior
Simple design from Colin Prior, a British landscape photographer. A simple to navigate menu bar, an abstract photo that makes the perfect backdrop for some text, and below some inviting images that draw the visitor into the different parts of the website.
Pw20 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites
Mark Velasquez
Mark Velasquez’s website features imaginative, colourful photography, presented in a series of easy to navigate photo galleries. One reason I like the photo gallery layout because it’s easy to navigate, the photos are relatively small and quick to load, and the photos are presented against a neutral gray background.
Pw21 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites
Jeremy Cowart
Sometimes, a pro photographer just needs a fantastic looking website that displays photos and little else. SEO and speed aren’t priorities, because the url will be given to potential clients. The important thing is to wow the viewer. That’s what Jeremy Cowart’s website does.
Pw22 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites
Paolo Boccardi
A big photo on the front page, easy to navigate links (I really like the little windows that pop up when you mouseover the links) and then horizontal photo galleries. Lovely!
Pw24 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites
Anna Kuperberg Photography
A beautiful flash driven website. Excellent photography, a front page slideshow to show off the work, and a music soundtrack that seduces the viewer. A very professional design.
Pw26 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites

Pw27 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites
Chase Jarvis
Chase Jarvis is famous amongst photographers for his blog, but his website is a masterpiece of web design. The viewer is greeted by a large, dramatic, slideshow on the front page, and an easy to navigate menu. The portfolio pages are spectacular, and the flash based design looks great.
Pw28 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites
Stefan Soell
Another horizontal photo gallery, this one is interesting because the gallery is contained within a frame. Frames are a little outdated, but the advantage here is that the viewer can switch between portfolios without leaving the front page. The photographer sells fine art prints and books through the site, and the viewer is left in no doubt that he’s an expert in his craft.
Pw29 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites
Amy Deputy Photography
Another flash based website, beautiful in its simplicity. The front page consists of four simple square images, link text and the photographer’s name and logo. The soft pastel colours of the photos on the front page complement each other. The website is also supported with a blog. Note the high quality of the portfolios. The website makes it clear that the photographer operates at the high end of the market.
Pw30 in 35 Beautiful Photography Websites

Fine art photographer Jessica Hilltout’s website has a very nicely designed front page, organising her work into three themes. Her name’s displayed along the top, and the categories along the bottom. A very simple, but effective website.

"The truth of the matter is that there's nothing you can't accomplish if: (1) You clearly decide what it is that you're absolutely committed to achieving, (2) You're willing to take massive action, (3) You notice what's working or not, and (4) You continue to change your approach until you achieve what you want, using whatever life gives you along the way."
